Total panic. Why does it have to be in the dead of night and of course it's \ raining sure why not. Chaos, enthropy, the opposite of orderly fashion. \ There are flashlights to my left down the street, looks like some sort \ of signals. What do I do anyway? Was I ever told what to do? I need someone \ to just take me to safety or at least give directions. Let's check out \ the flashlights I guess. "What the fuck" -- as expected. "Are you alone?" I can't make out who's talking but does it really matter? I nod. "Take her to the shelter bus and come back ASAP." -- finally, at least \ someone sounds like something close to authority. I feel a hand trying and failing to grab my arm, then two hands grabbing \ my sides and pushing forward. The chain is shorter than the push implied \ but the hands do hold me, thanks hands. "Sorry lady I have exactly zero seconds to spare getting you out, I'm sure \ they'll help you soon. But I must say, today's Halloween parties must be \ ka-ray-zee! Imma def getting myself invited after this sh-- nonsense is over." The "bus" is nearby, almost full already. It's more like a cattle car, \ all metal, one large door in the back, no seats, filled with clueless animals. \ Soon there's no space left, people packed like sardines in a tin. The door \ closed and I felt movement. There's no room for me to fall anyway. No one \ is talking. I'm not talking either, for several reasons. We didn't go that far, the trip was like ten minutes. The door is open again \ and people are already running towards what I guess is the entrance to \ the shelter. Well, I took my time, not by choice but still. Inside is \ a large room filled with people, and another door. "What the fuck" -- I'm sure I'll get this a lot more. "Right. Everyone move! You're next, go through the door when the light is on." Oh look, the light does flash. Someone is [[holding the door for me already.|next]] (end of page)
